Saskatoon Board of Police Commissioners and Saskatoon Police Association Reach Settlement on Collective Agreement

The Saskatoon Police Association (SPA) and the Saskatoon Board of Police Commissioners are pleased to announce the settlement of their 2020-2022 collective agreement for the next three years beginning January 1, 2020 and ending December 31, 2022. The last contract expired December 31, 2019.

81.2% of the members of the Saskatoon Police Association participated in the settlement process and 76.8% voted in favour of the new contract. The SPA represents 529 active members of the Saskatoon Police Service. The Saskatoon Board of Police Commissioners approved the new contract agreement at its June 18, 2020 meeting.

The agreement contains salary adjustments as follows: 1.0% on January 1, 2020, 1.0% on July 1, 2020, 1.6% on July 1, 2021, and 1.5% on July 1, 2022.

“The Saskatoon Police Association is pleased to have reached a negotiated settlement with the Saskatoon Board of Police Commissioners,” said Dean Pringle, President of the SPA. “We feel the agreement reached is fair for our members and is consistent with other police services across the prairies.”

“The Board is also pleased with the agreement that has been negotiated and we are confident the measures set forth will continue to contribute to strengthening the culture of community safety in Saskatoon,” said Darlene Brander, Chair of the Saskatoon Police Commission.
